What If You’re Not Stuck… Just Wired That Way?
I want to ask you something—honestly.
Have you ever felt like you know what to do… but you’re just not doing it?
You’ve read the books.
You’ve listened to the podcasts.
You’ve told yourself, “This is it. I’m changing.”
And yet… somehow, you end up right back where you started.
If that’s you, I want you to hear this:
You’re not broken.
But something is running in the background.
In this week’s episode of the Make Things Happen podcast, I talk with Dr. Tara Perry, and we go straight to the root of why change can feel so hard—even when you’re doing everything “right.”
And it comes down to this:
Your subconscious mind.
The Part No One Talks About
Most people focus on strategy.
“Do more.”
“Be more disciplined.”
“Stay consistent.”
And yes—that matters.
But here’s what I’ve seen over and over again (in my own life and in the people I coach):
If your subconscious beliefs don’t match where you want to go…
you’ll keep pulling yourself back.
Not because you’re lazy.
Not because you don’t want it.
But because something deeper is trying to keep you safe.
Even if “safe” means stuck.
This Got Personal for Me
This conversation struck a chord for me.
While I was working on my book, I started revisiting parts of my past I hadn’t fully processed.
At the same time, I started dealing with physical pain that didn’t make sense.
I tried everything.
Nothing worked.
Until I stopped looking at it as just physical—and started asking a different question:
What’s underneath this?
Working through that with Dr. Perry shifted something for me.
Not just in my body… but in my energy.
I felt lighter. Clearer. More like myself again.
And it made me realize how much we can carry without even knowing it.
The Patterns You Don’t See
One of the biggest takeaways from this episode is this:
Most of what’s driving your behavior… isn’t conscious.
It’s patterns.
Stories.
Beliefs that were formed a long time ago—sometimes before you even had the awareness to question them.
Things like:
“I’m not enough.”
“I’m not ready.”
And the tricky part?
You don’t always hear these thoughts out loud.
But they show up in your actions.
In your hesitation.
In your procrastination.
In the opportunities you don’t take.
So What Do You Do?
You don’t need to have all the answers.
You don’t need to figure everything out today.
But you do need to start paying attention.
Where in your life are you feeling stuck… even though you “know better”?
That’s your signal.
That’s where something deeper is asking to be seen.

You don’t have to stay where you are.
You don’t have to force your way through everything.

This book is more than pages bound together. It’s my story, my struggles, my faith, my lessons, and my breakthroughs. It’s everything I had to walk through—the pain, the doubts, the setbacks—that shaped me into who I am today. I wrote this book for the dreamer who’s been saying “someday.” For the achiever who looks successful on the outside but still feels like something is missing. For the person who knows, deep down, that there has to be more.
I am rooting for you! Keep believing in more!
Stay blessed,
💜 Diana
