Where Do You Fit in an AI World?
I’ve been thinking a lot about this lately.
Not in a dramatic, end-of-the-world way. Just honestly.
AI isn’t something we’re speculating about anymore. It’s in our inboxes. It’s in our workflows. It’s helping draft content, summarize meetings, analyze numbers, write proposals. It’s efficient. It’s impressive. And for some people, it’s unsettling.
Because underneath all the excitement is a quiet question:
If machines can do so much… what makes me valuable?
That’s why my recent conversation with Derek Rydall, best-selling author, transformational coach and speaker, felt so important.
Derek has spent decades helping people understand purpose, potential, and personal evolution. His new book, A Whole New Human: Ten Ways We Must Evolve to Survive and Thrive in the AI Age, doesn’t approach AI as something to fight or fear. Instead, he asks a different question:
What does it mean to become more human right now?
That reframing stopped me.
For years, we were told that intelligence was the advantage. Study harder. Learn more. Get sharper. Be the smartest person in the room.
But now information is everywhere. Strategy is accessible. Analysis is instant.
So if knowledge is widely available, what stands out?
Your lived experience.
Your judgment.
Your taste.
Your emotional depth.
Your story.
Derek said something in the episode that I can’t shake: there is a unique algorithm only you can run.
AI can pull from patterns. It can remix what already exists. But it cannot live your life. It cannot carry your setbacks, your lessons, your resilience. It cannot replicate the way you see the world because of what you’ve been through.
That’s not motivational fluff. That’s differentiation.
We talked about how easy it is to slip into comparison — especially now. To feel like you’re behind, or not technical enough, or unsure where you fit.
But maybe this isn’t about competing on speed or volume anymore.
Maybe it’s about depth.
Maybe the real work is knowing yourself well enough that no external shift can erase your value.
If you’ve been wrestling with questions about relevance, career direction, or what this new era means for you or your family, I think you’ll appreciate this conversation.
It’s grounded. It’s thoughtful. And it doesn’t pretend the changes aren’t real.
But it also reminds us of something steady:
You are not obsolete.
You are evolving.
And evolution doesn’t mean becoming more like a machine. It means becoming more fully yourself.

This book is more than pages bound together. It’s my story, my struggles, my faith, my lessons, and my breakthroughs. It’s everything I had to walk through—the pain, the doubts, the setbacks—that shaped me into who I am today. I wrote this book for the dreamer who’s been saying “someday.” For the achiever who looks successful on the outside but still feels like something is missing. For the person who knows, deep down, that there has to be more.
I’m so grateful to be on this journey with you!
Here’s to your evolution.
